Translation
The source text is analysed to identify its purpose, target audience, main features, sector terminology. Any reference documents provided to supplement the project are also analysed.
After the creation of the translation project, any reference texts (e.g. regulations, models, previous reports) are aligned and imported into the translation memory, reference terms are extracted, and, if necessary, a customised glossary is created also using terminology databases of similar projects.
The text is translated with the support of dedicated software, which guarantees the client terminology consistency even in large or long-lasting projects and reduces delivery times. The utmost attention is paid to the accuracy of the information as compared to the source text, and the consistency of style, terminology and layout of the source document.
During this phase the translated document is carefully checked against the original source text, also with the collaboration of colleagues, if agreed upon with the client. Any doubts or possible inaccuracies in the source text are pointed out to the client and, if necessary, field experts are contacted for conceptual and/or terminological clarifications. The utmost attention is paid to the accuracy of the information, the quality of the target language, the overall style of the text and the consistency of terminology.
Once the revision checks have been carried out and any doubts clarified, the translated text is proofread without the source text alongside, to further verify stylistic and terminological consistency and to identify any typos or other errors. Further quality checks are carried out with the support of IT tools that can identify inaccuracies not noticed during the proofreading, and the layout is carefully checked before delivery.
The document is delivered to the client on the agreed terms and according to the agreed specifications.
After the work has been delivered, any customer recommendations are incorporated into the document, glossaries and translation memories are updated in order to take them into account for future projects.

Interpretation
In order to ensure a successful event, for interpretation assignment I follow a strict 5-step working method.
During the initial contact stage, I will gather the main information about the event you intend to organise or the service for which you require my assistance. Once I have checked my availability and specialisation in the field, I will help you define the specific requirements of your event.
I will guide you in choosing the most appropriate, most effective and cost-effective interpreting mode for your event. I will provide you with guidance on the number of interpreters required and help you, if necessary, to find additional members for the team. If necessary, I will guide you in the choice of interpretation equipment suppliers.
Once the assignment has been defined and the conditions agreed upon, I will proceed with the collection of useful study material (presentations, reports, speeches, etc.) for the proper preparation of the event. All documents will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with privacy regulations.
Following the collection of the relevant documentation provided by you and the material available online, I will proceed with the delicate and rigorous phase of studying the topics and preparing the specialised terminology. This will be integrated into glossaries and electronic resources that may also be consulted during the event.
On the day of the event I will be at your side – or I will be connected by PC in the event of remote interpretation – to ease communication between you and your guests in your respective languages. Once the service is over, I will make sure there is a debriefing time to discuss the outcome of the event and I will make myself available for any translation of written documentation.
